Frigg platform accident – the DP1 story
Construction of what was intended to be the first installation on Frigg, the DP1 drilling platform, began in the summer of 1973. The steel jacket was due to be positioned on the field the following summer.

Phases of constructing at the Frigg field
The Frigg field was discovered in 1971, and was at this time the world's largest offshore gas field. The gas was mainly methane (95%), mixed with other hydrocarbons and some liquid condensate. The construction of the Frigg field was organized in three phases.
