Ekofiskfeltet oppdages
Ekofiskfeltet er populært kalt den store julegaven til Norge. Lille julaften 1969 ble den siste letebrønnen på blokk 2/4 plugget i visshet om at det var gjort et stort funn.
Feltet ble satt i produksjon to år senere. I henhold til en gjensidig bytteavtale mellom Phillips Petroleum Company og Petronord, eide Petronordgruppen 20 prosent i Ekofisk.
