Aker Maritime var hovedkontraktør for fjerningen av Odin-plattformen.
I 1996 bygde Aker Stord et av verdens få spesialanlegg for resirkulering av plattformer. Odin plattformen som ble demontert og skipet til Stord i 1996/97, var den første komplette produksjonsplattformen som ble fjernet fra norsk sokkel. Ved demonteringen av Odin-plattformen ble 98 prosent av plattformen resirkulert.
